Description

Luxaflex Pergolas are freestanding aluminium structures with an adjustable canopy overhead, and the difference between one of these and an awning is that a pergola is a room. The frame stands on its own posts rather than hanging off a wall, the canopy adjusts to let sun through or close it out, and once side screens go in the space has walls as well as a roof.

That is what extends the outdoor season rather than shading a table for a few weeks in July: with screens, integrated lighting and heating added, a terrace becomes usable across far more of the year and after dark as well as in daylight. The aluminium structure is robust and the canopy adjustable, with motorised operation available on selected products so the roof and screens can be moved without leaving your seat. Because a pergola is a piece of structure, siting it — where the posts land, how it meets the house, which way the canopy drains — matters as much as the specification itself.
