Venice doesn't borrow its curves from an abstract idea of elegance — it takes them from the city itself. Architect Jacopo Giagnoni built the collection's design around the arches and classic buildings of Venice, and it shows in the sofa's characteristic curved lines. Paired with a wooden base — a deliberate departure from the steel base used on several other pieces in Papadatos' range — the result carries what the manufacturer describes as a retro-rooted sense of elegance, distinct in character from the straighter, more contemporary lines found elsewhere in the collection.
The collection isn't limited to the sofa alone: Venice extends to matching ottomans available in several sizes, so the design language can carry across a room rather than living on one piece. Underneath the upholstery, the seat combines various-density foam and memory foam with goose feather set in a special pocketed sheet designed to reduce settling and displacement. It's worth knowing that feather fill naturally gives cushions a slightly looser, less uniform look over time compared to solid foam alone — a normal characteristic rather than a flaw, and cushions benefit from an occasional fluff to redistribute the fill. Covers are fully removable throughout, secured by zipper on the cushions and velcro elsewhere, and available across a wide range of natural and synthetic fabrics and leathers.
